Voice@Home
Voice over Internet telephony for the home
Reduce Cost
Operating costs for VoIP service providers are much lower than for traditional phone companies and their existing plain old telephone system (POTS) infrastructure. Our calling rates are significantly less than those offered by many POTS companies.
Cloud PBX Features such as voicemail, call forwarding, caller ID and many others are included as part of the standard plan fee. You do not pay extra for these services.
The National & Country Calling Minutes in each of the standard plans include calls to 55 international (mostly landline but some mobile) destinations.
No Contract Term
All voice and broadband plans are provided on a no term, pay the monthly fee in advance basis. There is no requirement to commit to a 12 or 24 month contract.
You can upgrade or add to your plan immediately and downgrade or cancel your plan at the end of the monthly billing cycle.
Add additional numbers or a landline-to-mobile calling minutes bundle to meet a short term need; then cancel it when the need is over.
Flexibility
With Cloud PBX Features available on every single number you can tailor your plan to meet your needs – simply, easily and at low cost compared with traditional phone technology. For example:
- answer and make calls from your number wherever you have an Internet connection – at home, on the other side of the world or at the crib/bach
- access your voicemail from your phone, a different landline or mobile phone, your email as an attachment or form your account portal
- Locate Me can make incoming calls ring up to five other numbers simultaneously – work number, mobile number, etc.

Getting Started
To start using your Voice@Home plan you need the following:
A Broadband Connection
Our voice plans are delivered over the Internet, so you need a broadband connection. We provide broadband (see our Broadband plans) as well as telephone. However, our voice plans are agnostic as which ISP you get your broadband from. So, you can use a naked broadband plan from another provider if you wish.
A Voice Plan
Choose one of the standard Voice@Home plans. The numbers in these plans include, as part of the standard monthly fee, Cloud PBX features such as voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting, caller ID, etc. These numbers can be local, regional, facsimile or toll free numbers anywhere within New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the USA and the UK.
A Care Plan
You need a Care Plan for each Voice over Internet (VoI) device we supply and that you use with the plan. At least one VoI device is required to use your voice plan, so you need at least one Care Plan. This Care Plan provides for the set up of your VoI device and ongoing voice plan support.
A Voice over Internet Device or Softphone
To be able to use your voice plan and talk you need a Voice over Internet (VoI) device that connects to the Internet. You will require at least one of:
- an IP desk phone. This is a digital phone that connect via Ethernet cable or WiFi to your router and to the Internet. These type of phones generally have a high level of functionality and capability – multiple lines, call management features, speed dialling, large LCD displays, etc.
- an IP DECT phone. The cordless version of the IP desk phone. They have a wireless base station to which a number of cordless handsets can be connected, multiple line capability and call management features.
- a Bria softphone subscription, a Bria client loaded on a PC/Mac/laptop and a headset. Bria can also be loaded on your mobile as an app.
